Headquartered in Paris, HSBC Continental Europe is an indirectly held subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc. HSBC Continental Europe principally comprises, in addition to its wholesale banking and asset management activities based in France, the business activities of 10 European branches (in Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden) and two bank subsidiaries in Continental Europe (in Luxembourg and Malta). HSBC Continental Europe aims to become the leading international wholesale bank in Continental Europe, to support the growth of its international corporate and institutional clients, complemented by a targeted wealth and private banking offering. The completion of the sale of the Retail Banking Business in France in January 2024 marked a key milestone in HSBC Continental Europe’s transformation and allows the bank to focus on its wholesale banking business model. This comprises of commercial banking, global banking, markets and securities services activities for corporate and institutional clients, as well as asset management, complemented by a targeted wealth and private banking business.

We offer a range of options for students who are at Business School, University or Engineering school, whether you are in your first, penultimate or final year of your undergraduate course. The France Internship Programme is for students looking to build on their degree and gain an invaluable insight into banking with a leading global bank. The programme provides you with hands-on experience and on-the-job training to gain a head start in your career after graduation. We also look to the programme to provide a pipeline of future leadership talents. - Duration: Six months - Areas: Global Banking & Markets, Wealth and Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, Digital Business Services, Global Functions - Location: France - When to apply: application for this programme throughout the year with two main entires in January and July. - Who can apply: to be considered for the programme you need to be a student at a university in France or in an European School. In this case if your are a non UE member, you will need to have a French working permit. - What to expect: Supported by experienced managers, colleagues and a wide network of diverse peers, you will be encouraged to take on responsibility and bring new ideas to the table.
